As I reflect on why I first ran for Council in 2009, I can see how the role of an elected official has evolved, both in positive and challenging ways. With the upcoming municipal elections on November 2, I feel it is time to share my position with the 21,000 residents of our great community.

Dorval became our home in 1992, when my spouse and I chose it as the place to raise our two daughters. It’s a community I love deeply for all that it has to offer. That said, it hasn’t always been easy for my family, especially with the rise of social media. Today, elected officials face constant criticism at all hours of the day. It takes a thick skin to navigate this climate of aggression and negativity, where every action, no matter how well-intentioned, must be defended. Too often, the same small group of voices, frequently anonymous, cast doubt on the integrity and competence of those who serve.
Yet, despite these challenges, the positive aspects of this role far outweigh the negatives. The energy I receive from you—whether at community events, on the street, or in the village—fuels my motivation. Your optimism inspires me and reminds me why I chose to serve in the first place.
It is with great honour that I announce my candidacy for Mayor of the City of Dorval. Over the coming weeks, I will be introducing a dedicated team of councillors who share our vision, yours and mine. Together, we aim to continue the important projects we’ve started, propose new ones, and ensure Dorval remains one of the most vibrant communities on the West Island—and indeed, in all of Montreal.
The flame is far from extinguished. It burns brighter than ever, telling me there is still much more to do. I hope you feel the same. I look forward to continuing to serve this community with pride, with honour, and with unwavering dedication.
